Guest Speakers:
Honourable Rob Renner, Minister of Environment
LaVar Payne, MP for Medicine Hat
Special Watershed Workshop Participant:
Len Mitzel, MLA Cypress-Medicine Hat
Great people…well planned.
Well done and coordinated. WaterPortal presentation was most useful.
Politics are important, but solid reliable factual informaiton and analysis is essential. There has been a great deal of information about water assembled over the years but it is not readily available to the broad public. The most useful part of workshop: pie and socialization.
There is a definate need to reform the water licencing system inluding criteria for:
1. priority of use,
2. seasonal and longer (eight year) term quantity fluctuations, and
3. quality (mineral and biological)
The workshops are an opportunity to exchange information. There should be much more time allocated to this. It is a real learning experience. Divide the workshops into several groups… to interact with other people.
Excellent all round. More time for round table discussion.
Doing good work. Looking forward to next meeting.
Very good presentations, food and beverages. Excellent entertainment (Cowboy Poet and Singer Perry Jacobson).
Most useful: Rob Renner’s frank discussion and comment about the “dam”.
Very enjoyable and informative.
Most useful: Speakers and workshop discussions.
Need more workshop discussions and opinion sharing.
